3 Great Reasons Not to Put Away the Horseradish Products and Grill

By June 13, 2019No Comments

Don’t banish the barbecue grill to the shed just yet. Summer may be officially over but that’s no reason to put down the horseradish products and grill aprons. There are still warm afternoons on the horizon and there’s always the trusty stove nearby waiting to pick up the slack. And as for us, we’ve got some cool recipes guaranteed to keep you chillin’:

1.) Marmalade and Horseradish Products
Do you want a sweet sauce with a lot of heat? Try blending equal parts of your favorite marmalade with one of our horseradish products. If the marmalade isn’t sweet enough, add a little more sweetener. Generally, honey, powdered, brown or granulated sugar will do. When you’ve got the perfect blend of sweet and heat, go ahead and use it as a dipping or basting sauce. It goes great with grilled pork, seafood and chicken.

2.) Pie Filling and Horseradish Sauce
Do you love the taste of lemon pie filling? Okay, what about other pie fillings like cherry and apple? Believe it or not, they mix well with horseradish products too. Scrape one cup of your favorite pie filling into a food processor, mixer or blender. Then add the following:

4 Tbsp. Deli Direct Horseradish Mustard
1 Vidalia Onion (Minced)
2 Tbsp. Cider Vinegar
Salt to Taste
To give it a smooth consistency, add virgin olive or canola oil at the end. A cup of oil or less should take care of it. Afterward, use the modified pie filling as a glaze, dipping or cocktail sauce. It works well with meats and various desserts (e.g. tart fillings).

3.) Salad Dressing and Horseradish Products
Finally, try blending horseradish products with your favorite salad dressings and some honey. It is a great substitute for barbecue sauce. Plus, it works with late season veggies, deviled eggs and salad greens too. The list of good dressings to consider includes, but shouldn’t be limited to French, blue cheese and Italian.
