Spooky Food Ideas for Halloween Parties

Every October the time comes to plan for the delightful deluge of Halloween parties, and whether you are the one hosting or just have been asked to bring something to a potluck, you’ll likely looking for creative Halloween food ideas. Here at Deli Direct we offer a lot of the main ingredients necessary for some of these spooky treats, but we can only provide the building blocks. Turning those foods into something fun and frightening is entirely up to you.

Six Halloween Food Ideas
While there is no shortage of great Halloween party ideas this time of year, the following foods are sure to fit into any Halloween theme while also remaining incredibly delicious.

Spooky Veggies & Dip
The top ends of carrots just so happen to look a lot like fingers, especially if you dip the ends in one of the many Deli Direct veggie dips to create the illusion of fingernails. Small tomatoes can be sliced to look like eyes, too, with pickles or small peppers serving as the irises. Just serve with the Hearty Cheddar Bacon dip or Hot Jalapeño Dip for a delicious, fun treat.

Hot Dog Mummies
Get a hold of some hot dogs or small sausages and wrap them in a strip of crescent roll dough to make them look like mummies. You even can drop some food-color dabs for eyes!

Ghostly Chocolate Lover’s Dream
The Chocolate Lover’s Dream dip is one of our favorites here at Deli Direct, but in preparing it slightly differently, the top of the dip could be made to look like a ghost face, with graham cracker sticks around the edge of the plate for dipping.

Jack ‘O Lantern Dip Bowls
Get a few orange bell peppers, which look like miniature pumpkins, and carve them so they look like tiny Jack ‘O Lanterns. Any of our delicious dips or cheese spreads can be emptied into the pepper and served much more creatively than just some white ramekin or glass dish.

Skeleton Bone Dip
Another fun trick for our dips is to simply shape them like a skeleton bone. There are cookie cutters that can help you do this, or it can be done by simply shaping them by hand. Put the formed dip in the freezer for about ten minutes to help solidify its shape, then decorate the platter of “bone” dip and crackers with skeleton decorations to emphasize the theme.

Red Ghost Nuts
For those that like something a little spicy, our hot Red Ghost Nuts are great for a Halloween party when served directly from the container, which features an angry skull-faced grim reaper right on the wrapper. Perhaps no item in our inventory is more tailor-made for Halloween!

Feel free to try any of these excellent Halloween food ideas this October, as each of them is equally fun for kid parties and adult gatherings. This is one of the more enjoyable seasons of the year, with some of the most delicious seasonal foods, and Deli Direct has what you need to make those light-hearted, slightly spooky foods happen!
