Did you know that the uniquely named horseradish plant is actually a close cousin to broccoli and cabbage? The horseradish plant grows to about five feet tall and is distinguishable by its thick, waxy leaves and clusters of white flowers. However, the star of the show that is made into many different horseradish products, is the long, white root of the horseradish plant. Horseradish is known for its pungent, spicy flavor and is typically used to add intense flavor to sauces, salad dressings, cocktails and as a topping for roast beef.
